Rega Aura Phono Preamplifier

Further Information

For sale is my Rega Aura phono stage (RRP $10,000). This is a genuinely high end phono stage from Rega - see reviews below. It equals or exceeds most of the phono stages I have owned over the years, some much more expensive, and will be a good match with many high end turntables and cartridges.  I used it very successfully with a number of turntables and arms,  and quite a few cartridges over the years : Dynavector XV-1S and XX2, Ortofon Cadenza Black and Bronze, Benz Glider and Ruby Z, Lyra Delos, Zyx 4D and many others. I am only selling because I have upgraded to a much more expensive phono stage (for a very small improvement). The phono stage is MC only, with multiple capacitance settings and loading options for 50, 100, 200 and 400 ohms. It is in excellent condition, with only very minor marks consistent with its age, and comes with the original box, manual and power cable.

Pick up is available, or I am happy to send by courier at the buyer's cost and risk. It is very heavy, so will be sent via Pack & Send, if not picked up in person.

This is a rare chance to pick up an outstanding phono stage at less than half new price, and these do not come up for sale often.

Reviews below:

What Hi FI:

We really rate the Aura. Its combination of agility, dynamic expression and rhythmic coherence is deeply impressive. If you have a system that can make the most of a phono stage of this level, dive right in. You won’t be disappointed. https://www.whathifi.com/au/reviews/rega-aura

The Ear:

The Reg Aura is clearly a top notch phono preamplifier, its build quality, range of features and sheer transparency put it in the premier league. There’s no shortage of competition at and above this price point but you don’t often get the combination of qualities that the Aura offers, and as these results show this is not exclusive to Rega cartridges by any means. So if you are looking to go deep into your vinyl grooves and have a turntable, arm and cartridge that can dig out the details in a shining and beautiful manner then the Aura is definitely a contender for your budget.  https://www.the-ear.net/review-hardware/rega-aura-mc-mc-phono-stage

Hifi Choice:

The Aura combines superlative engineering and build to create an unashamedly high-end phono stage that performs remarkably well. What sets it apart from many other very capable rivals is that the Aura balances peerless accuracy and realism with the ability to deliver unbridled musical joy. I cannot recall reviewing a product quite as covetable as this in a very long time and as such, it’s one of the finest phono stages I’ve ever heard.  https://www.hifichoice.com/content/rega-aura

LBTech:

The Rega is far from cheap, although it costs almost half of the mentioned competitors’ options, but it is worth all the money for those who want to get even more out of the vinyl collection. The only prerequisite for this to be magical is that you match the player and pickup to perfection. Rega Aura MC takes care of the rest. https://www.lbtechreviews.com/test/hi-fi/rega-aura-mc

Tracking Angle:

The Rega Aura MC is a high definition moving coil phono preamp that does all the hi-fi stuff including image scale, depth and precision, low level detail resolution, timing and dynamics extremely well for its price point. It is really well built and has features that are not to be found on many competing products. But ultimately it provides a window into the music in your vinyl grooves that very few can match when it comes to engagement of the heart and mind, if you want to get fully involved in the music and hear what the artist is saying it has few peers. https://trackingangle.com/equipment/rega-aura-mc
